April 27

POSSESSION...A 25-year-old Buffalo man and a 44-year-old West Seneca woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a separate incident in the area of Como Park Boulevard and Bellevue Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed the man and woman occupying a vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior. The man reportedly stated that he smoked marijuana a half-hour earlier. During a search of the vehicle, police located alleged "crack" cocaine "all over" the front seats and floor.

MENACING...A 23-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Broadway gas station on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a store employee stated that the man entered a bathroom at the location and remained there for a considerable amount of time with the light off. When the employee entered the bathroom to check on the man's welfare, he observed the man standing in the corner and facing a wall. When the employee told the man to leave the location, the man allegedly lunged at him and wrestled him before the man eventually exited the location. Police located the man nearby.

DWI...A 32-year-old Siberling Drive woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle drift between lanes and over double yellow lines while traveling eastbound on Genesee Street. A traffic stop was initiated on Ellwood Place and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The woman reportedly stated that she consumed four alcoholic beverages at a local tavern. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .15. Breath test: refused.

DWI...A 22-year-old Garden Village Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle swerving between lanes several times while traveling eastbound on William Street. The man's vehicle also reportedly almost struck another vehicle and nearly backed into a patrol car. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech. The man reportedly stated, "I am tired, sorry, and I was on my phone and not paying attention." The man added that he was coming from a Buffalo tavern but denied consuming alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .12. Breath test: .14.

DWI...A 24-year-old Oehman Boulevard woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle parked improperly in an intersection at Dick Road and Genesee Street, causing a traffic signal to function incorrectly. A traffic stop was initiated on Cayuga Road and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .17. Breath test: .14. After being placed into custody, the woman reportedly asked, "Can't I just walk home?"

ASSAULT...A 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman, both of Ivanhoe Road, were arrested after police responded to the pair's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a female victim stated that outside of the residence, the 23-year-old screamed at and threatened her. When a male victim attempted to step between the 23-year-old and the female victim, the 23-year-old allegedly attacked him and threw the victim's cellular telephone. During a subsequent altercation, the 23-year-old and 24- year-old reportedly punched, choked and scratched the victims. Police located the women inside their residence.

POSSESSION...A 27-year-old man, a 58-year-old man and a 24- year-old man, all of Buffalo, and a 38-year-old Losson Road man were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the area of William and Celina streets on a report of a payment for drugs. Upon arrival, police observed the 38- year-old- who matched the report's description- driving a vehicle in which the 24-year-old, 27-year-old and 58-year-old were passengers. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed that the 38- year-old's license was suspended, and that the 27-year-old had an outstanding arrest warrant in Buffalo. During a search of the vehicle, police located an alleged marijuana "blunt" on the floor near the center console.

April 28

MENACING...A 37-year-old Como Park Boulevard man was arrested after police responded to a Dennis Lane address on a report of menacing. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that she was approached earlier at a Union Road convenience store by the man, who allegedly yelled at her about her son owing him money. The man reportedly followed the victim outside and poked her chest, stating- while clenching his fist in a threatening manner- that "people have owned him money in the past and that he won't tolerate it."

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF/ RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT... A 27-year-old Linda Drive man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, the man threw a table, grabbed her by the neck and threw her into a baby crib. A witness confirmed the events taking place.

POSSESSION... A 26-year-old Clearvale Drive man and a 24-yearold Java woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a 9-1-1 call from the man's address. Upon arrival, police heard a female screaming from inside the residence. After entering the residence, police observed the woman lying on the ground, then spring up and storm out of the address while yelling about the Ku Klux Klan, as well as the "growing solar light on the neighbor's front lawn." Officers observed in plain view four hypodermic syringes, an ashtray and alleged heroin on a coffee table, kitchen table and in a bathroom. The man admitted to shooting heroin, and police observed a fresh needle mark in his arm, which was bleeding.

BURGLARY/CRIMINAL CONTEMPT...A 48-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Lemans Drive address on a report of threatening telephone calls. Upon arrival, police observed the man inside a female victim's residence. A background check revealed that the victim had a stay-away order of protection against the man. The victim stated that the man had telephoned her and threatened to kill her. The man later entered the victim's residence while holding a hand saw, refusing to leave the location even after the victim asked him to do so. The man also allegedly pushed the victim against a wall and held the saw to her neck.

HARASSMENT...A 51-year-old Amurra Court man was arrested after police responded to the area of Genesee Street and Donald Drive on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that while she waited for a school bus to drop off her child, the man drove by in his vehicle and winked while making a kissing motion at her. The victim added that the man- who lived close to her- had harassed her on several other occasions, including once when he grabbed his genitals and looked at her while standing near his front door. Police located the man at his residence, and the man denied gesturing toward the victim.

ASSAULT/POSSESSION...A 29-year-old Marne Road man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to the man's address on a report of an assault. Upon arrival, police determined that the man punched a victim in the face and head. The man also allegedly threatened to shoot the victim and "kill his wife," adding that he has "his people watching (the victim) to go into (the victim's home) and shoot them." Police later located two plastic bags containing alleged "crack" cocaine in the back seat of a patrol car in which the man had been sitting.

April 29

DWI...A 48-year-old Sandra Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Rosedale Drive address on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon an officer's arrival, a witness stated that she had heard a crash and, upon going outside, observed her son's vehicle was damaged and the man's vehicle nearby. Police determined that the man's vehicle had struck the witness's son's vehicle. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY/ POSSESSION...A 33-yearold West Seneca woman, a 20-yearold Buffalo woman and a 27-yearold Buffalo man were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Union Road bank on a report of a male being coerced into taking out money for three individuals outside the location. Upon arrival, police determined that a male at a teller's desk stated that the three individuals had made him go to the bank to withdraw money for them, adding that they'd harm him if he didn't. Police located the trio outside and placed them into custody. Officers later located alleged "crack" cocaine under the back seat of a patrol car in which the three had been sitting. Police also located two alleged "crack" pipes with residue in the woman's trousers.

POSSESSION/FALSE PERSONATION... A 20-year-old Alys Drive West, Depew man and a 22- year-old Argus Drive, Depew woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the man traveling eastbound on Broadway with its driver's view obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated and the man couldn't produce his license. A background check revealed that the man- who had also given police a false name and date of birth- had a suspended license. During a search of the vehicle, police located a "chore boy" on the floor, in addition to alleged "crack" cocaine on a rod and ratchet in the center console.

April 30

ASSAULT...A 33-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Marne Road address on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man had pulled her and another victim out of a vehicle and had begun beating them both. The man later allegedly pushed one of the female victims after she confronted him in the street.

ASSAULT...A 45-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue address on a report of a loud argument. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that after she refused to let the man enter her residence, he reached through a hole in the front door and pulled her hair and choked her. The man later allegedly punched the victim in the lip and pushed her into a window.

POSSESSION...A 28-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the woman's vehicle pass through a red light while traveling on Harlem Road near William Street. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior. Police located unprescribed Hydrocodone and Tylenol pills and a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the woman's purse.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 48-year-old Barrymore Road man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, she was struck by the man. The man later reportedly threw two telephones, breaking them.

LARCENY...A 29-year-old Walden Avenue man was arrested after police responded to a Walden address on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that on the previous day, the man had arrived at his residence to discuss a transaction. However, after the victim displayed $100 in his hand, the man allegedly grabbed the cash and ran from the location. Police located the man at his residence.

DWI...A 41-year-old Slate Creek Drive woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Walden Avenue and Union Road on a report of an accident in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police observed the woman sitting in the driver's seat of her vehicle. The woman then reportedly staggered toward a patrol car and stated that she simply bumped a victim's vehicle a short time earlier. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "heavily slurred" speech. The woman reportedly admitted to drinking vodka and Red Bull. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .23.

RESISTING ARREST... A 20- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police took the man into custody after responding to a Kensington Avenue location for a separate incident. After police informed the man that he was under arrest, the man reportedly pulled his arm away from an officer and attempted to run from the scene. He was then physically subdued by police.

May 1

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF...A 38- year-old Pine Ridge Road man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of criminal mischief. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, the man destroyed several dining pieces, a cabinet and a dresser. Police observed that the residence was "completely torn up." An officer apprehended the man walking on Pine Ridge Road near Peachtree Road.

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT... A 25-year-old Lackawanna man was arrested after police responded to a Mafalda Drive address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man had called her on the telephone at least 15 times during the previous three days, leaving a derogatory message about the victim's daughter. With assistance from Lackawanna police, officers located the man at his residence.

POSSESSION...A 37-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle in which the woman was a passenger traveling on Pine Ridge Road with its driver's view obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated near Markus Drive, and a background check revealed that the woman had an outstanding arrest warrant in Niagara County. The woman later admitted at police headquarters that she had alleged "crack" cocaine and a Lortab pill in her underwear. A female guard located the items.

POSSESSION...A 28-year-old Haller Avenue man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police stopped the man's vehicle- which was traveling on East Delavan Avenue- for a traffic infraction. Police observed the man smoking an alleged marijuana cigar, which he attempted to hide in the center console before police con fiscated the item. A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended.

THEFT OF SERVICES... A 51-year-old Garden Village Drive man was arrested after police responded to a French Road restaurant on a report of a customer who left without paying for a bill. Police located the man nearby. The owner of the restaurant stated that the man ordered a soda, drank it and left as payment for the refreshment a scratch-off ticket, which stated, "Win up to $5,000."

May 2

POSSESSION...A 20-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police stopped the woman's vehicle- which was traveling on Walden Avenue- for a separate infraction. Upon approaching the vehicle, an officer observed alleged marijuana on the floor of the back seat, as well as a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the woman's purse.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY/POSSESSION... A 31-year-old George Urban Boulevard, Depew man and an 18-year-old West Seneca woman were arrested after police responded to a Walden Galleria store on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that the man took a $420 pair of sunglasses and exited the store without paying for the item. Officers determined that the woman was partly involved in the larceny. Police discovered a Lortab pill in the woman's purse. During an investigation, police determined the location of the man's place of residence. With assistance from Depew police, officers found the man at his residence and discovered the stolen pair of sunglasses in a basement toilet.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Corfu man and a 16-year-old William Street, Sloan female were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police radar paced a vehicle driven by the man- which was traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue- at less than 30 miles per hour in a 40 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and while interviewing the pair, police observed the 16-year-old drop a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana. The 16-year-old stated that she also had a plastic bag containing marijuana in her bra. A female guard located the item during a search at police headquarters.

May 3

POSSESSION...Thomas C. Safe, 42, and Michele J. Duebell, 42, both of Buffalo, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by Safe pass through a red light while traveling eastbound on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed that Safe's license was suspended. Police located an alleged "crack" pipe on the floor, as well as 13 acid tablets under the center console and alleged "crack" cocaine under the front passenger's seat.

DWI...Scott F. Shoemaker, 25, of Rochester was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed Shoemaker's vehicle travel into oncoming lanes of traffic while making a left turn from George Urban Boulevard onto Dick Road. A traffic stop was initiated and police observed a six-pack of beer on the floor near the front passenger's seat. Upon interviewing Shoemaker, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed Shoemaker had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Shoemaker reportedly denied consuming alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered and Shoemaker refused both an alco sensor and breath test.

POSSESSION...Mary Jo Hanrahan, 42, of Grand Island was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers brought Hanrahan to police headquarters for a separate incident. During the booking process, police located 16 Temazepam pills in Hanrahan's purse.

OBSTRUCTING GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION... Schamika L. Page, 20, of Buffalo was arrested after police stopped Page's vehicle- which was traveling on the Kensington Expressway- for speeding. A background check revealed that Page's license was suspended. When police took Page into custody, she reportedly yelled, "You have no right to do this" and refused to enter a patrol car. Page continued to yell and walk around before she was subdued and taken into custody.

Depew

April 29

DWI...Robert W. Cook, 36, of Cromwell Drive, Depew was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed Cook's vehicle traveling southbound on Penora Street with a partially attached registration sticker. Cook's vehicle also reportedly traveled on the shoulder of the road, and a traffic stop was initiated. Upon interviewing Cook, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed Cook had bloodshot, watery eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .15. Breath test: .14.

May 1

DWI...Adam S. Palumbo, 19, of Whitney Place was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced Palumbo's vehicle- which was traveling eastbound on George Urban Boulevard- at 46 miles per hour in a 35 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing Palumbo, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed Palumbo had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .09.

RESISTING ARREST/DISORDERLY CONDUCT... Domenico R. Zirilli Sr., 41, and Domenico F. Zirilli Jr., 19, both of Warsaw Street, Depew were arrested after police observed a vehicle driven by Zirilli Jr.- who was reportedly seen for the second time that day operating his vehicle while having a conditionaluse only license- traveling on Gould Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and Zirilli Jr. reportedly used profanity, later flailing his arms and bumping an officer. Zirilli Sr. later arrived at the scene and pointed his finger in an officer's face, using profanity and asking, "Why are you always picking on my son?" Zirilli Sr. later attempted to push an officer away and refused to place his hands behind his back before he was sprayed with pepper spray.
