CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY...A 25- year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police observed the woman not signal while changing lanes in her vehicle as it headed southbound on Union Road. A traffic stop was initiated and a background check revealed that a license plate on the vehicle was stolen. Police also observed that the vehicle did not have registration or inspection stickers.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 26-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police responded to an Alpine Place address on a report of criminal mischief. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the woman threw two bricks at her vehicle, breaking the windshield. Police located the woman at her residence.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY... An 18-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to the Walden Avenue Super Flea on a report of a male with a gun. Upon an officer's arrival, a witness stated that the man possessed a gun and was running westbound in the parking lot near the central building. Police located the man and ordered him to the ground at gunpoint. The man claimed that several males confronted him earlier and threatened him with a rifle. Several other witnesses stated that the man had pointed a gun at them while he was standing near their vehicle. The man then allegedly attempted to steal a necklace from a victim while holding a gun. One witness leaped on the man and briefly wrestled with him before the man escaped and fled, while being chased by the witnesses. Local medical personnel located a gun- allegedly used by the man-

near a fence. Police located several rounds of ammunition and alleged "crack" cocaine in the man's possession.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 39-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Harlem Road tavern on a report of an assault. Upon an officer's arrival, the man reportedly stated that he fought another individual earlier in the bathroom. The man- who was reportedly "highly intoxicated"- refused to leave the location and used several profanities toward officers. The man also reportedly stated, "Go ahead, take me to jail."

LARCENY...A 56-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police responded to a Thruway Plaza department store on a report of stolen property. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that the woman took $62 worth of pants and walked out of the store without paying for the items. The officer caught the woman and held her before police arrived.

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Federal Avenue man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a 9-1-1 call at a Linda Drive address. Upon arrival, police observed the man running out the back door of the residence. An officer apprehended the man and located alleged marijuana in a case in his pants pocket.

February 25

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.. A 23-year-old West Seneca man was arrested after police responded to a Warsaw Street address on a report of a male running eastbound on Warsaw after smashing the kitchen window of a residence. Police observed the man- who matched the report's description- running eastbound on Columbus Street. The man reportedly ignored officers' requests to stop, as he continued running and attempted to leap over a fence into the area of an old orphanage. An officer grabbed the man, who reportedly refused to be handcuffed and rolled around in snow. Officers subdued the man and determined that he smashed the front window of a Warsaw residence, also damaging the front door.

FALSE PERSONATION... A 28-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police observed a pair of suspicious individuals occupying a vehicle that was parked in a "no parking zone" on Hedwig Avenue. When police approached the vehicle and observed the man and another male, the man reportedly acted in a nervous manner. The man reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth, but later admitted his actual identity. A background check revealed that the man had an outstanding arrest warrant in Buffalo Family Court.

ASSAULT...A 26-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Bell Street address on a report of an assault. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man "came over and began to beat her." The victim alleged that the man struck her in the face and head, causing lacerations and bumps. The man later allegedly kicked the victim, grabbed her by the throat and stated, "I will kill you."

February 26

RESISTING ARREST/ FALSELY REPORTING... A 27- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Hedwig Avenue residence for a separate incident. Upon an officer's arrival, the man reportedly stated that his female friend was "inside the residence, bleeding and probably having a miscarriage." The man later accused police as "the reason (the female) was going into labor." Police determined that the female was not at the location. When officers attempted to take the man into custody for falsely reporting an incident, the man reportedly shouted profanities and struggled with police before he was sprayed with pepper spray.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 59-year-old Lancaster man was arrested after the man- who was picketing outside of a Walden Avenue manufacturing company- blocked a patrol car from entering the driveway of the location. The man reportedly refused to move, stating, "I have five minutes," and "I don't have to listen to you."

DWI...A 40-year-old Tonawanda man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Bronx Drive on a report of a disturbance. A witness stated that she observed the man's vehicle strike a snow bank in front of a Birchwood Drive address, and a traffic stop was initiated. The man reportedly refused to exit the vehicle before officers subdued him. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Alco sensor: .18. Breath test: .18. A background check revealed that the man had a previous DWI conviction in August 1998, making this arrest a felony.

February 27

LARCENY...A 27-year-old Mount Morris man was arrested after police observed the man's vehicle towing a trailer that contained what Kenville Road. Police determined that scrap metal was being used at a recent project on Kenville, and a traffic stop was initiated. A background check revealed that the man's license was revoked in Tennessee. The man reportedly stated that he took scrap metal from a victim's property because he "thought it was trash." The victim stated that the man did not have permission to take the items.

POSSESSION...A 25-year-old Arthur Musarra Parkway man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle- which was recognized by officers as having been involved in recent drug sales- traveling southbound on Union Road with an inadequate brake light. A traffic stop was initiated and the man reportedly spoke in a nervous manner. During a search of the vehicle, police- with assistance from a K-9 unit- located alleged cocaine in a driver's side door panel, as well as alleged marijuana and a pipe.

POSSESSION...A 47-year-old Transit Road, Depew man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with darkly tinted windows. A traffic stop was initiated near Allied Drive and the man reportedly told conflicting accounts of his previous whereabouts. The man then denied having "crack," stating that he "just snorts 'coke.'" During a search of the vehicle, police located a plastic bag containing alleged "crack" cocaine in the center console.

February 28

ASSAULT...A 21-year-old Gierlach Street, Sloan man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of an assault. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim- who is pregnant- stated that during an argument, the man grabbed her and kneed her in the stomach. The man also allegedly pushed the victim.

POSSESSION...A 30-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling westbound on Walden Avenue with several items hanging from its rear-view mirror. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior. During a search of the vehicle, police located alleged marijuana under a cup in the center console.

DWI...A 30-year-old Garden Village Drive woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of French Road and Garden Village on a report of an accident in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police observed the woman near her vehicle. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: 13. Breath test: inconclusive.

February 29

DWI...A 58-year-old Villa Moraine Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle- which was traveling eastbound on Broadway- at five miles per hour. The man's vehicle also reportedly swerved out of its lane, and a traffic stop was initiated. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .16. Breath test: .16.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY...A 55- year-old Clarence man was arrested after a police background check revealed that a vehicle driven by the man, which was traveling on Galleria Drive, displayed a stolen license plate. A traffic stop was initiated near Walden Avenue, and police were forced to take the man to the ground. Officers determined that the vehicle contained $73 worth of stolen items.

DWI...A 47-year-old West Seneca woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling at an "imprudent" rate of speed while heading southbound on Harlem Road in icy conditions. A traffic stop was initiated on Dingens Street and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .20. Breath test: .17.

March 1

POSSESSION...A 39-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling southbound on Wagner Street with an inadequate brake light. A traffic stop was initiated, and an officer observed pieces of a "chore boy" on the floor near the driver's seat. The man reportedly stated that he is a retired New York State Corrections Officer from Albion Correctional Facility. The man reportedly flashed a badge and "begged for a break." Police located alleged cocaine in the man's coat pocket.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY...An 18- year-old Medina woman was arrested after police responded to a Walden Galleria department store on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that the woman took $50 worth of store merchandise and attempted to exit the location without paying for the items.

POSSESSION...A 20-year-old North Tonawanda woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument after police responded to a Thruway Plaza department store on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that the woman had concealed 30 DVDs and then walked out of the store without paying for the items. The loss prevention officer apprehended the woman outside and held her before police arrived. Officers located four hypodermic needles containing alleged heroin, as well as the stolen DVDs, in the woman's possession.

DWI...A 47-year-old Fath Drive woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Union Road drug store on a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon an officer's arrival, a witness stated that the woman's vehicle traveled erratically before swerving into the parking lot. The woman then allegedly "stumbled" into the store. Police observed the woman staggering toward her vehicle. When the woman attempted to drive away, officers stopped her. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "extremely slurred" speech. The woman reportedly stated that she consumed three beers earlier before driving to "get gum and makeup at the store." Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .18. Breath test: refused.

February 23

DWI...A 19-year-old Honorine Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle- which was traveling northbound on Transit Road- at 48 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated near Gould Avenue and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered and the man admitted that he was 19 years old.

DWI...A 42-year-old East Aurora man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle- which was traveling southbound on Transit Road- fluctuating between 10 and 20 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot eyes. The man reportedly stated that he consumed "a few" drinks earlier at a Transit Road tavern. The man reportedly failed several field sobriety tests. He also stated that he "graduated high school but did not understand the English language." A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. Alco sensor: refused. Breath test: .01.

February 24

HARASSMENT...A 33-year-old Leroy man was arrested after police responded to a George Urban Boulevard nightclub on a report of a large fight in front of the location. Upon an officer's arrival, several witnesses stated that the man "hit a girl and was trying to fight with people." The man reportedly elbowed an officer in an attempt to get back into the nightclub. He also used profanity and stated that club employees "started the altercation because he was talking to girls." Employees stated that the man "was involved in a fight in the parking lot" before he tried to get back into the club. The man later urinated and defecated in his pants while being transported to police headquarters.

February 25

DWI...A 62-year-old Transit Road, Depew woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling on Broadway with several items hanging from its rear-view mirror. A traffic stop was initiated near Wenona Street and a background check revealed that the woman's license was revoked. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .14. Breath test: refused. A background check revealed that the woman had a previous DWI conviction, making this arrest a felony.
