POSSESSION...A 35-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with its driver's view obstructed by an air freshener. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed in plain view alleged cocaine on the front passenger seat.

POSSESSION...A 47-year-old Transit Road, Depew man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with darkly tinted windows, also weaving in and out of lanes several times without signaling. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed that the man had an outstanding arrest warrant in Buffalo. The man reportedly told conflicting accounts of his previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, police located alleged "crack" cocaine above the driver's side ceiling liner.

POSSESSION...A 39-year-old Michael Avenue, Sloan man and a 42- year-old Gierlach Street, Sloan woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Glenwood Court address for a separate incident. Upon an officer's arrival, a vehicle- in which the man and woman were occupants- arrived at the residence. When police interviewed the pair, the pair reportedly told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. With assistance from a K-9 unit, police located alleged cocaine in the woman's purse.

January 19

ASSAULT...A 26-year-old Amherst woman was arrested after police responded to an East Grand Boulevard address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a male victim stated that the woman became upset when he conversed with another female at a Harlem Road location. The woman allegedly punched the female in the face, then broke the male victim's cellular telephone and jumped on him. After knocking the male victim to the ground, the woman allegedly scratched his face. Several witnesses broke up the altercation before police arrived.

DWI...A 19-year-old Amherst man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on the Kensington Expressway, at 81 miles per hour in a 50 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man, who was unable to produce his license, admitted to consuming alcohol earlier at a Buffalo tavern because he "knew one of the employees." Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .16.

POSSESSION...A 42-year-old Kenmore woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle- in which the woman was a passenger- traveling eastbound on Losson Road with only one headlight illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated and both the woman and the driver told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. An officer located alleged cocaine and a cotton swab on the woman's pants, as well as on the back seat of a patrol car in which the woman had been sitting.

January 20

DWI...A 36-year-old Roland Street, Sloan man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Crocker Street address on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police determined that the man had fled his vehicle on foot following the accident. Officers located the man at his residence. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The man refused to submit to field sobriety tests. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .21.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT/ CRIMINAL MISCHIEF...A 20-yearold Pendelwood Drive man was arrested after police responded to a Claudette Court address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, the man kicked and broke a kitchen chair. A background check revealed that the victim had a stayaway order of protection against the man.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 28- year-old woman with no address given, was arrested after police responded to a Sprucewood Drive address on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police heard loud shouting coming from the residence. Upon entering the dwelling, police determined that the woman punched a hole in a wall during "an argument over a cookie." The woman then reportedly refused to put her shoes on or leave the residence.

POSSESSION...A 29-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle parked near Pine Hill Primary School well after school hours. Upon approaching the vehicle, police observed in plain view alleged marijuana on the front passenger seat.

January 21

STALKING...A 65-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to the Villa Maria Convent on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that the man was stalking a female victim and had fled the location recently. Police stopped the man's vehicle, which was traveling nearby on Doat Street. The man reportedly stated that he was at the location to "see a nun's funeral because he had never been to one before." The female victim stated that the man had been harassing her for months, sending letters to her residence, following her to different locations and "constantly trying to talk to her." The man also reportedly asked the female to "move in with him," even though the female asked him repeatedly to stop contacting her. The complainant also asked the man to stop harassing the female, but on that day the man reportedly responded by pushing him.

FALSE PERSONATION... A 44- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after officers brought the man to police headquarters for a separate charge. During the booking process, the man reportedly gave police a false name. However, a background check revealed his actual identity.

TRESPASSING...A 20-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Williamstowne Court address on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man refused to leave the location. The man then reportedly fled the scene but returned five minutes later.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY...A 52-year-old Alpine Place woman was arrested after police responded to a Walden Galleria department store on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that he observed the woman steal $60 worth of store items.

PUBLIC LEWDNESS/RESISTING ARREST... A 52-year-old Union Road woman was arrested after police responded to the area of Homeworth Parkway and Barone Circle on a report of a female urinating in the street. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that he observed the woman drop her pants, expose her genitals and urinate in the roadway. Police located the woman on Barone and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. The woman reportedly refused to be handcuffed, kicking her feet and swinging her arms at police. The woman later kicked at and attempted to bite another officer. Neighbors nearby on Barone stated that the woman earlier attempted to enter their residence while muttering loudly to herself.

POSSESSION/HARASSMENT... A 40-year-old Dick Road woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Lydia Lane address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that while she was attempting to back her vehicle into a parking space, the woman blocked her while participating in a drug deal in the parking lot. When the victim asked the woman to move, the woman allegedly punched her in the face, causing a laceration and swelling. Officers located the woman at her residence, where they also located alleged cocaine, two alleged "crack" pipes and a "push rod" in plain view.

January 22

POSSESSION...A 25-year-old Holland man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle make an illegal U-turn while traveling on Walden Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated near Duke Road and the man reportedly told conflicting accounts of his previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, police located two Lortab pills.

POSSESSION...A 24-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling westbound on Genesee Street with an air freshener obstructing the driver's view. The woman and a passenger also were not wearing seatbelts, and a traffic stop was initiated. Upon approaching the vehicle, an officer observed the woman acting suspiciously. The woman later admitted to having marijuana in her purse, where police located the substance.

January 23

ROBBERY...An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both of Buffalo, were arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue department store on a report of a robbery in which two males fled the location in a vehicle traveling westbound on Walden. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that he observed on store surveillance the men conceal several ink cartridges in their pockets and then attempt to leave the location without paying for the items. The manager then confronted the pair and took the 19-year-old's car keys. However, the men then pinned the manager against a vehicle, and the 19-yearold threatened to keep punching him if he didn't give back the keys. The pair then threw the manager to the ground, causing a laceration to his hand, before fleeing the location. Officers stopped the pair's vehicle nearby and located the stolen cartridges.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... An 18-year-old Buffalo woman and a 16- year-old Buffalo female were arrested after police responded to a Euclid Avenue address on a report of unwelcome guests. Upon arrival, police observed the women and the 16-year-old arguing with several other youths. When officers ordered everyone to disperse, the woman and the 16-year-old reportedly refused, yelling various profanities and threats.

POSSESSION...A 25-year-old Garden Village Drive man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the man's address on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police heard a female yelling. When police knocked on the front door, the man reportedly yelled from inside, "You're going to have to kick (the door) in if you want to come in." After obtaining a residence key from the landlord and entering the address, police subdued the man. The man reportedly used profanity, and police located alleged marijuana in plain view in the living room.

January 24

DWI...A 20year-old East Aurora woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the woman's vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on Broadway near Indian Road, at 52 miles per hour in a 40 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy eyes. The woman reportedly at first denied consuming alcohol earlier at a George Urban Boulevard nightclub, adding that she was 20 years old. However, she later admitted to consuming one beer at her residence. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .14. Breath test: refused.

ASSAULT...A 20-year-old Slate Creek Drive man was arrested after police responded to a Broadway address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, the man "threw her around by her hair," also choking her. The man also reportedly threatened to "kill" the victim before fleeing the residence. Officers located the man walking nearby.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON...A 21-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police observed the man not wearing a seatbelt while driving his vehicle northbound on Union Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, police located a revolver and ammunition under the driver's seat.

POSSESSION/ROBBERY... A 56- year-old Buffalo man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Harlem Road drug store on a report of security personnel fighting with a shoplifter. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that he observed the man conceal various items in his sweatshirt. When the manager confronted the man, he reportedly pushed the manager. The pair then grappled before police arrived. Officers located alleged marijuana and an alleged "crack" pipe in the man's possession.

DWI...A 60-year-old Beechwood Place man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of William Street and Wagner Avenue on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. A witness told police that the man's vehicle had swerved over double yellow lines on William and struck the mirror on the driver's side door of her vehicle. The man's vehicle then continued traveling, heading to the man's residence. Police located the man at his address and upon interviewing him, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .15. Breath test: .14. A background check revealed that the man had a previous DWI conviction in August 2004, making this arrest a felony.

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling westbound on Richard Street with a rear license plate that was not illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the interior. The man reportedly stated that he didn't have a license. The man admitted to having marijuana in his coat pocket, where police located the alleged substance. An officer also located a plastic bag containing alleged "crack" cocaine in the man's right front pants pocket. A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended.

DWI...A 26-year-old Mafalda Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Woodridge Avenue address on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police observed the man in his vehicle. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man reportedly admitted to consuming "a few" beers earlier. Field sobriety tests were administered and while balancing himself on one foot, the man reportedly stated, "I'm (messed) up." Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .28.

POSSESSION...A 22-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police stopped the man's vehicle, which was traveling on East Delavan Avenue, for a traffic infraction. The man reportedly stated that he didn't have a license. An officer observed a knife in the glove compartment, and a background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. Police also located 21 plastic bags containing alleged marijuana in the vehicle.

January 25

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old West Seneca woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a suspicius vehicle in a Thruway Plaza parking lot. Upon approaching the vehicle- in which the woman was an occupant- an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior. The woman reportedly admitted to having marijuana in her bra and handed the substance to an officer.

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Fonda Drive man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man acting in a suspicious manner while walking behind Airport Plaza. When police later confronted the man on St. Mary's Street, the man reportedly admitted to having marijuana. Police located the substance in the man's jacket pocket.

January 26

POSSESSION...A 27-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after a police background check revealed that the man's vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Eggert Road, displayed license plates that belonged to another vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and police observed the man toss an object out of a window. Officers located a quantity of alleged "crack" cocaine on the ground near the vehicle. A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, police located an alleged marijuana cigar in an ashtray. During the booking process at police headquarters, an officer located alleged cocaine in each of the man's jacket pockets.

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Hedwig Avenue man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling southbound on Toelsin Road with inadequate brake lights. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. During a pat search, an officer located a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the man's pants pocket. The man passed field sobriety tests.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 21- year-old Mafalda Drive man was arrested after police escorted the man to a Cleveland Drive residence to pick up various personal items. When the man arrived, he reportedly began arguing with a female. When police asked the man to stop yelling, he reportedly shouted profanities.

January 19

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 43- year-old Leonard Avenue, Depew woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's address on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon arrival, police determined that the woman-

who was reportedly "highly intoxicated"- had gotten involved in a dispute with a male acquaintance. When an officer interviewed the woman, she reportedly began yelling profanities at police and demanding they leave the location. The woman also reportedly threatened to "kill" an officer.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT... A 41- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue address on a report of an order of protection violation. Upon arrival, police determined that the man- who was at the location and matched the report's description- had violated a stay-away order of protection from a victim by showing up at the address.

January 20

POSSESSION...A 42-year-old Joel Drive woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling southbound on Transit Road with only one headlight illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed that the woman's vehicle registration, as well as her license, were suspended. During a search of the vehicle, police located several alleged marijuana cigarettes in a cup holder.

January 21

RESISTING ARREST...A 22-yearold Vita Road man was arrested after police responded to a Karen Lane address on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that the man had made an unwanted visit to the residence. When the complainant threatened to call police, the man allegedly ran from the location down Dick Road, Broadway, Indian Road, Como Park Boulevard and Vita. He then ran into a wooded area, where a Cheektowaga police K-9 unit assisted in apprehending the man.

January 22

POSSESSION...A 36-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers brought the man to police headquarters for a separate charge. During a pat search, an officer located a small plastic bag containing alleged cocaine in the man's pants pocket.

January 23

POSSESSION...A 50-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after a police background check revealed that the woman's vehicle, which was traveling westbound on Broadway, displayed a suspended registration. A traffic stop was initiated and another background check revealed that the woman's license was suspended. During the booking process, police located three Lortabs and a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the woman's front jacket pocket and purse.
