Two suspects caught after robbing HSBC By John J. Hopkins Times
Cheektowaga police arrested two suspects believed to have robbed an HSBC Bank branch on Union Road Wednesday morning, and were still searching for a third suspect Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, at around 10:25 a.m., two men held up the HSBC branch at 4237 Union Road at gunpoint.
After taking money, the suspects fled in a 2000 Buick operated by a third person.
Prior to a police radio broadcast of the robbery, Patrolmen Jose Domenech and Brian Wesoloski observed a Buick that matched the description being operated in a sus- picious manner on the Kensington Expressway.
"They were watching this car and it just didn't look right," said Captain John Glascott.
The officers checked the license plates with a database from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and determined that the plates belonged to a different vehicle.
