January 6

DWI...A 38-year-old George Urban Boulevard man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man urinating near his vehicle in a Union Road restaurant parking lot after previously driving on George Urban. Upon interviewing the man- who stated that he was "hungry and driving to get food"- an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man later admitted to consuming four beers earlier at his residence. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .13. Breath test: refused. Police later located a mixed drink in a cup holder.

LARCENY/RESISTING ARREST... A 31-year-old man and 40-yearold man, both of Rochester, and a 46- year-old Zephyr Hills, Florida man were arrested after a police background check revealed that a vehicle driven by the 46- year-old- which was traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue- displayed license plates issued to another vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle pulled to the side of the road. However, as police approached the vehicle, the 46- year-old reportedly placed the vehicle into "drive" gear and operated the vehicle recklessly on Walden into Depew and Lancaster. Lancaster police placed road spikes on Walden, and the speeding vehicle's tires deflated after crossing the spikes. The vehicle veered off the road and into a ditch. The 40-yearold and 46-year-old then reportedly ran from the vehicle but they were apprehended after a brief struggle. Police located three "impact guns" in the vehicle, along with the 31-year-old. Officers determined that the 40-year-old had also stolen a DVD from a Thruway Plaza department store.

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Springfield Drive man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the area of Cedargrove Circle on a report of a runaway male from a Shirley Drive residence. Following an investigation and search, officers located the man- who matched the report's description- at a Springfield address. Police also located alleged marijuana near the man in the living room.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 48-year-old Parkview Terrace man was arrested after police responded to a Liberty Terrace address on a report of two males fighting in the street. Upon arrival, police observed the man- who matched the report's description- in the roadway. The man reportedly became verbally abusive toward police, yelling several profanities.

POSSESSION...A 22-year-old Amherst man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle swerve out of its lane several times while traveling eastbound on Genesee Street. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer observed alleged marijuana on the floor near the front passenger seat. Upon searching the vehicle, police located more alleged marijuana on the floor near the driver's seat, along with an alleged marijuana cigar.

January 7

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Corfu man and a 34-year-old Pamela Drive, Depew man were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the Corfu man traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue with an inadequate muffler. A traffic stop was initiated and the Corfu man reportedly acted in a nervous manner. Police observed a "chore boy" on the floor near the front passenger seat. During a search of the vehicle, an officer located two additional "chore boys" under the front passenger seat, as well as alleged "crack" cocaine in a paper bag. The Corfu man later stated that he and the Depew man- a passenger- had "went to buy 'crack.'"

HARASSMENT...A 42-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a witness stated that during an argument, the man pushed her daughter against a vehicle. The man then allegedly fled the address in a vehicle, which officers located nearby. A background check revealed that the vehicle's registration and license plates were suspended.

POSSESSION...A 21-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after officers brought the man to police headquarters on a separate charge. During a pat search, an officer located five bags containing alleged marijuana in the man's possession.

POSSESSION...A 30-year-old Halstead Avenue, Sloan man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with an inadequate muffler. A traffic stop was initiated on Halstead, and a background check revealed that the man did not have a valid license. The man reportedly admitted to having marijuana in his vehicle. Police located the item.

January 9

ASSAULT...A 58-year-old Niagara Falls man was arrested after police responded to a Cayuga Road coffee shop on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man attempted to cut in front of his vehicle near a drive-through window. When the victim refused to let the man go in front of him, the man allegedly yelled profanities, exited his vehicle and pounded on the window of the victim's vehicle. The man then followed the victim's vehicle with his vehicle on Union Road near the Kensington Expressway, driving sideby side with the victim. When the victim rolled his window down and told the man to "back off," the man allegedly rolled his window down and punched the victim in the mouth. After police ran a background check on the man's vehicle's license plate and contacted his residence, the man turned himself in at police headquarters.

TRESPASSING/CRIMINAL CONTEMPT...A 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old Brown Avenue man were arrested after police responded to the pair's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, the woman stated that the man followed her into her apartment and refused to leave. The man stated that the woman called him on the telephone earlier. A background check revealed that the man had a "do-not-contact" order of protection against Radder.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT... A 22- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Brookhaven Drive address on a report of an order of protection violation. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man came to her residence earlier and asked her for money. After the victim gave the man money to "make him leave," the man ran northbound on Brookhaven. A background check revealed that the victim had a stay-away order of protection against the man. Police located the man walking on Maryvale Drive.

January 10

DWI...A 23-year-old Rouses Point, New York woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle make a left turn from the far right lane of Union Road onto the Kensington Expressway while traveling northbound. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy eyes and slurred speech. The woman reportedly stated that she consumed two shots of liquor at a George Urban Boulevard nightclub. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .20.

FALSE PERSONATION... A 27- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Doat Street with an inadequate muffler. A traffic stop was initiated and the man was unable to produce any identification. The man reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth, but the man's acquaintance informed officers of the man's actual identity. A background check revealed that the man's license was revoked.

POSSESSION/ROBBERY... A 25- year-old Shanley Street man, an 18-yearold Buffalo man, an 18-year-old Walden Avenue woman and a 17-year-old Garland Avenue male were arrested after police responded to a robbery at a Thruway Plaza clothing store. Upon arrival, police determined that the three males had attempted to purchase boots from which price tags had been removed. The 25-year-old reportedly shoved a witness and fled the store, fighting with an officer outside. An officer suffered cuts and a torn-off fingernail as a result of the altercation with the 25-year-old male. Police located alleged marijuana in the first 18-year-old man's possession. Officers determined that the woman- a store cashier- knew the three males and had removed price tags, charging them $1 per item.

DWI...A 50-year-old George Urban Boulevard man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Union Road and Walden Avenue on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, an officer observed the man near his vehicle. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and while reciting the alphabet, the man reportedly exclaimed, "Oh, I'm a musician." Alco sensor: .19. Breath test: .20.

January 11

DWI...A 21-year-old Woodgate Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle drifting between lanes several times while traveling westbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated on Woodgate and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man reportedly stated that he consumed two or three beers earlier at a French Road nightclub. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .13. Breath test: .12. While an officer was placing the man into a patrol car, the man reportedly stated,

Please don't (take me), I'll give you

100 to let me go."

DWI...A 42-year-old Marlene Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while heading southbound on Union Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .21. A background check revealed that the man had a previous DWI conviction in Cheektowaga in May 2006, making this arrest a felony.

AUTO STRIPPING...A 46-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to Walden Galleria on a report of criminal mischief. Upon an officer's arrival, a mall security guard stated that he observed, on video surveillance, a male removing driver's side door mirrors from vehicles while walking through a parking lot. Police located the man- who matched the report's description- in a parking lot. Officers determined that the man possessed the following stolen items- that had been taken from various mall stores and vehicles- in a shopping cart and bag: a radio, charger, battery, basketball, television and various jackets.

DWI/POSSESSION...A 27-year-old Crisfield Avenue man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling erratically while heading on Harlem Road near Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .13. Breath test: refused. An officer located an alleged marijuana pipe on the floor of the vehicle.

POSSESSION...A 36-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after officers brought the man to police headquarters following a shoplifting arrest. During a pat search, an officer located alleged marijuana in the man's pocket.

January 12

FALSE PERSONATION...A 44- year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police observed the woman's vehicle fail to completely stop at a red light while turning right from Walden Avenue onto Harlem Road. A traffic stop was initiated and the woman was unable to produce any form of identification. The woman reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth, but she later admitted her actual identity. A background check revealed that the woman had two outstanding arrest warrants in Buffalo.

DWI...A 23-year-old Alaska Street woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle weaving and traveling on the shoulder of the road while traveling westbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. An officer located several open beer cans on the floor near the front passenger seat. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .11.

POSSESSION/UNLAWFUL FLEEING OF AN OFFICER... A 27- year-old Lancaster man was arrested after police observed the man's vehicle pass through a red light while traveling westbound on Clinton Street. A traffic stop was initiated, but the man's vehicle continued traveling at a rate of 60 miles per hour in a 35 mph speed zone, passing through three more red lights into Buffalo. The man later lost control of his vehicle near Lewis Street in the city, and the vehicle struck a power pole and flipped over. Officers located alleged "crack" and a pipe in the man's pocket. Buffalo police and medical personnel also responded to the scene, and the man was taken to Erie County Medical Center. The man, who was not seriously injured, was later returned to police headquarters.

LARCENY...A 30-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue department store on a report of a larceny in progress. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that the woman had concealed a pair of $30 boots in a duffel bag and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items. Police located the woman outside the store and found the stolen boots in her possession.

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT... A 31-year-old Gaby Lane man was arrested after police responded to a French Road restaurant on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, the restaurant owner stated that the man- who had been recently been fired- called him repeatedly at the restaurant that day, even after the owner warned him to stop doing so. During one call, the man reportedly used profanity and stated, "I'll take care of you tomorrow." Police located the man at his residence. The man was reportedly uncooperative during the booking process, refusing to let himself be photographed.

DWI... A 43-year-old Williamsville man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was traveling westbound on Walden Avenue, at 55 miles per hour in a 40 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and "impaired" speech. The man reportedly stated that he consumed five beers after playing volleyball. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .15. Breath test: refused. December 28

POSSESSION...A 38-year-old Hanwell Place, Depew man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man pushing two bicycles through a Transit Road store. Upon approaching the man, an officer located an alleged "crack" pipe and alleged "crack" cocaine in the man's right front pants pocket.

DWI...A 42-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Transit Road, at 47 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered and the man refused both an alco sensor and breath test. A background check revealed that the man had a previous DWI conviction in June 2004, making this arrest a felony.

DWI... A 24-year-old Williamsville man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection of Broadway and Transit roads, then back up and abruptly change lanes. A traffic stop was initiated near Terrace Boulevard and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and "impaired" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .15.

DWI... A 37-year-old Rushford Lane man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Transit Road, at 47 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and "impaired" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .11.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 31-year-old St. Joan Lane man was arrested after police responded to the area of Transit and Zurbrick roads for a separate incident. Upon an officer's arrival, the man reportedly began shouting profanities, refusing to leave the location. The man continued yelling profanities even after officers warned him to stop doing so.

DWI...A 27-year-old St. Joan Lane man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle traveling extremely close to a patrol car while heading southbound on Transit Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and "impaired" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .21. Breath test: .20.

December 30

DWI...A 34-year-old Seminole Parkway woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling southbound on Dick Road without its headlights illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had bloodshot, watery eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .13. Breath test: refused.

LARCENY/POSSESSION... An 18-year-old Warner Road, Depew man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a Broadway supermarket on a report of a fight between two males. Upon an officer's arrival, a store manager stated that he observed the man stuff a box of condoms into his pocket and attempt to leave the store. The manager stopped the man and the pair struggled before police arrived. An officer located a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the man's rear left pants pocket.

January 1

DWI...A 20-year-old Sylvia Drive, Depew man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle strike a snow bank while traveling southbound on Transit Road. The man's vehicle- which police radar paced at 50 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed zone- also swerved between lanes and a traffic stop was initiated. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .20.

January 4

POSSESSION...A 38-year-old Hanwell Place, Depew man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a suspicious male- later determined to be the man- on the corner of Transit Road and Hanwell. When police approached the man, he stated that he had a quantity of "crack" cocaine in his pocket. Police located the item in the man's possession.

January 5

DWI...A 30-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle traveling westbound on Walden Avenue with an expired inspection sticker. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .11. Breath test: .13.

January 6

POSSESSION/HARASSMENT... A 23-year-old Green Terrace, Depew man and a 20-year-old Lancaster woman were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a Lancer Court address on a report of a fight. Upon arrival, police determined that the man had driven to the location and began punching a male victim. Also at the location, police observed the woman's vehicle attempting to leave, but officers initiated a traffic stop. A background check revealed that the male victim had a stay-away order of protection against the woman. Police also located a pipe containing alleged marijuana in a cigarette pack in the woman's vehicle. Officers also located the man at his residence and located two pipes and a small bag containing alleged marijuana on a table.

January 8

POSSESSION...A 52-year-old Lake View man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle make an illegal left turn from Dick Road onto North Creek Drive. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the man's vehicle, an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior. The man then handed an officer two alleged marijuana cigarettes.

January 10

DWI...A 27-year-old Barker man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle stopped at a green light at a traffic signal at the intersection of Walden Avenue and Transit Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed the man asleep at the steering wheel. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .18. Breath test: .20.

January 12

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Olmstead Avenue, Depew man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the man's address for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed the man smoking alleged marijuana in a garage.

January 13

CRIMINAL NUISANCE... An 18- year-old Argus Drive, Depew man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of underage drinking. Upon arrival, officers observed several persons under the age of 21 possessing alcoholic beverages. Police determined that the man- who was not home at that time- resided at the location. A background check revealed that the man had an outstanding arrest warrant in Tonawanda.
