JFK boys on hot streak with three straight wins
The John F. Kennedy boys bowling team is rolling along with three straight league wins, including a nailbiter against perennial power Alden.
Following a close loss to local rival Cleveland Hill to open the season, the Bears came back on December 11 to edge Erie County Interscholastic Conference-IV opponent Lackawanna, 4-3, as senior Mike Kaminski recorded a score of 245 in one game, as JFK overcame a 3-1 deficit to win. Other key games for Kennedy included freshman Zak Kuzara's 224 and eighth grader Kyle Uzar's 191.
In another 4-3 win, this time at Alden last Thursday, Kennedy won in total pincount, 4,227-4,126. Kaminski (257 in one game) and freshman Tyler Harhigh (212) contributed to the Bears' win.
On Monday, the Bears dominated league foe Holland on the road, 7-0, at a location (Willow Lanes) that Bears head coach Pete Odrobina called "the hardest house to bowl at in the entire ECIC."
Kaminski and Kuzara each bowled games of 202, while Harhigh added a 191.
The Bears (3-1) trail Cleve Hill (4- 0) for the top spot in ECIC-IV.
