AUGUST 12

DWI...A 41-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle traveling in an oncoming traffic lane while heading northbound on Union Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

POSSESSION...A 35-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, both of Roland Street, Sloan, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man and woman not wearing seatbelts in a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed the man making "furtive movements." A background check revealed that the vehicle was not registered. During a search of the vehicle, police located an alleged "crack" pipe on the front passenger seat.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Cleveland Drive man, 21-year-old Amherst man, a 17-year-old Amherst male and a 16-year-old Middleport male were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a Yvonne Avenue address on a report of a burglary at an uninhabited residence. Upon arrival, police observed the four males in the kitchen and detected an odor of marijuana. Officers also observed beer bottles near the males and determined that the males used them to make holes in a wall. Police also determined that the four males kicked and broke a kitchen door. An investigation revealed that the residence is in foreclosure and that the four did not have permission to be there. Police located alleged marijuana near the males.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF/ ASSAULT...A 21-year-old Glenwood Court man was arrested after police responded to the man's residence on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man "trashed" the residence, punching holes in a wall, destroying two picture frames and damaging a dresser and a lamp. The man also allegedly flipped over a coffee table and head-butted a victim twice.

HARASSMENT...A 40-year-old East Toulon Drive woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that the woman slapped their daughter in the face "very hard." The woman reportedly stated she struck the daughter because "she would not get ready for church."

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT... A 59-year-old North Creek Drive, Depew man was arrested after police responded to a Niebert Place address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man called her on the telephone 10 times and threatened to damage her pool. The victim added that she asked the man to stop calling, but he refused to do so.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Amherst man and a 21-year-old Zent Court man were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the 19-year-old traveling at a high rate of speed while heading eastbound on Walden Avenue. The vehicle also displayed objects hanging from the rearview mirror, and a traffic stop was initiated. The 19-year-old reportedly stated he didn't have any identification. During a search of the vehicle, police located alleged "crack" cocaine and alleged marijuana in the center console.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old North Siene Drive man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the man's residence on a report of a disorderly person. Upon arrival, police observed a party taking place with several youths, including one wouth who had been barred from showing up at the residence. Officers observed in plain view an alleged marijuana pipe on a dresser in a bedroom.

AUGUST 13

POSSESSION...A 43-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway without a front license plate. A traffic stop was initiated and the man admitted to having marijuana in the center console, where police located the alleged item.

STALKING...A 78-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Haley Lane address on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon arrival, police observed the man sitting in front of a victim's residence while holding a bag. A background check revealed that police had recently ordered the man to stop all contact with the victim. The victim stated that the man had called her four times earlier. Police found shaving tools in the man's bag, which he stated he brought because the victim shaved him in the past.

POSSESSION OF BURGLAR'S TOOLS/LARCENY... A 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, both of Buffalo, were arrested after police responded to a Walden Galleria store on a report of shoplifting. Upon an officer's arrival, a loss prevention manager stated that the women took $860 worth of store property into a changing room, concealed the items in bags and left the store without paying for the items. The manager added that he heard cutting sounds coming from the changing rooms prior to the womens's departure, and he apprehended the women outside the store. Police located the stolen items- and a pair of pliers used to cut tags off the goods- in the pair's possession.

TRESPASSING...A 42-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Thruway Plaza store on a report of a disorderly panhandler. Upon arrival, police observed the man, who matched the report's description, begging customers for money outside the store. Officers determined that the man had recently been ordered not to return to the store.

POSSESSION...A 21-year-old Wanda Avenue man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling on Wanda with darkly tinted windows. A traffic stop was initiated and police observed alleged marijuana seeds on the floor. During a search of the vehicle, police located eight bags containing alleged marijuana in the center console.

DWI...A 34-year-old Virginia Road woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Beach Road and Cleveland Drive on a report of an accident in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police determined that the woman's vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The woman reportedly denied consuming alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered and the woman refused both an alco sensor and breath test.

DWI...A 19-year-old Fairoaks Lane man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of William Street and Vern Lane on a report of a male driving erratically. An officer observed the man's vehicle, which matched the report's description, traveling on William and a traffic stop was initiated. A witness stated that the man's vehicle had earlier passed through several stop signs and went over a curb and onto a sidewalk, nearly striking pedestrians. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had slurred speech. The man reportedly stated he consumed three shots of liquor prior to driving. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .03.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Temple Drive man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with darkly tinted windows. A traffic stop was initiated and the man admitted to having "illegal pills" in his pocket. During a pat search, an officer located seven Lortab pills in a plastic wrapper in the man's pocket.

AUGUST 14

DWI...A 20-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle swerve between lanes several times while traveling westbound on Genesee Street and onto the Kensington Expressway. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .23. Breath test: .20.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Curtiss Street, Sloan man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a passenger in the man's vehicle not wearing a seatbelt as the vehicle traveled eastbound on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated on Curtiss and the man stated that he did not have registration for the vehicle. The man and the passenger reportedly told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, officers located five Hydrocodone pills in the center console.

POSSESSION...A 24-year-old Transit Road, Depew man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man talking on a cellular phone while operating his vehicle eastbound on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of marijuana coming from the interior. With assistance from a K-9 unit, police located two plastic bags containing alleged marijuana in the man's possession, as well as another plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the vehicle.

AUGUST 15

DWI...A 22-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the woman's vehicle, which was traveling westbound on French Road near Borden Road, at 47 miles per hour in a 35 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The woman reportedly stated she consumed two beers earlier at a French Road tavern. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .14. Breath test: .13.

TRESPASSING...A 46-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue convenience store on a report of a male soliciting patrons for money. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated that after the man had been asked to leave the location, he threatened to come back and "shoot up the place." Police located the man walking on Walden and apprehended him.

POSSESSION...A 29-year-old Hamburg man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Wagner Avenue, Sloan address on a report of two suspicious males in a vehicle that was traveling erratically. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the corner of Reiman Street and Lackawanna Avenue. The driver of the vehicle reportedly stated that he and the man were "driving around and asking people for money to use to buy 'crack' cocaine." The man dropped toilet paper outside the vehicle and then stepped on it, causing a loud, cracking sound. Police observed the remains of an alleged "crack" pipe, which held alleged "crack" cocaine and a "chore boy."

POSSESSION...A 41-year-old Brookedge Road woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after a police background check revealed that the woman's vehicle, which was traveling on Borden Road near Joel Drive, displayed a suspended registration. A traffic stop was initiated and during a search of the vehicle, officers located alleged "crack" cocaine folded up in a newspaper in the woman's purse.

POSSESSION...A 27-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, both of Amherst, were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle driven by the man traveling northbound on Beach Road without a front license plate. A traffic stop was initiated and a background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. An officer observed a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in a sneaker on the floor. During a pat search, an officer located alleged marijuana in the woman's possession.

RESISTING ARREST/ TRESPASSING...A 51-year-old Rossler Avenue man was arrested after police responded to a Rossler address on a report of a neighbor begging for money. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man had come over and asked for $2 earlier, adding that this request has become a "regular occurrence." When an officer approached him, the man reportedly became irate, yelling loudly while a passer-by watched. The man also reportedly struggled with officers before he was physically subdued.

STALKING/CRIMINAL CONTEMPT...A 34-year-old Heather Road man was arrested after police responded to a Zoerb Avenue address on a report of an order of protection violation. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man threatened to kill her, then drove by her residence several times in his vehicle. A background check revealed that the victim had a stay-away order of protection against the man. Police later located the man at his residence.

ASSAULT...A 30-year-old woman and 28-year-old man, both of Walden Avenue, were arrested after police responded to the pair's address on a report of a fight. Upon an officer's arrival, a male victim stated that during an argument, the man punched a female victim in the face. The man later arrived and allegedly punched the male victim in the head and face, causing bruises.

POSSESSION...A 19-year-old man and 36-year-old man, both of Buffalo, were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle driven by the 19-year-old traveling eastbound on Genesee Street displaying a broken back window and tail light. A traffic stop was initiated at George Urban Boulevard and with assistance from a K-9 unit, police located alleged marijuana in the glove compartment.

AUGUST 17

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Terry Lane man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police stopped the man's vehicle, which was traveling westbound on Genesee Street, after a background check revealed that the vehicle's owner had an outstanding arrest warrant. During a pat search, police located an alleged "crack" pipe in the man's right shorts pocket.

FALSE PERSONATION... A 34- year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police observed the driver not wearing a seatbelt in a vehicle in which the woman was a passenger and traveling northbound on Eggert Road. A traffic stop was initiated and the woman reportedly gave police a false name. A background check revealed the woman's actual identity and that the woman had an outstanding arrest warrant in Buffalo.

DWI...A 24-year-old Amherst woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the woman's vehicle, which was traveling southbound on Dick Road, at 84 miles per hour in a 50 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. When questioned about her whereabouts, the woman reportedly used profanity and said that she was heading toward Kenmore, adding that she thought Kenmore was "the next right." Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused. The woman reportedly complained several times about having to "squat in the weeds" and go to the bathroom. She was also uncooperative at police headquarters, refusing to be fingerprinted or photographed.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 46- year-old Kaufman Road man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man, who was reportedly intoxicated, threw trophies into a sink, breaking them, and later kicked down a bedroom door and ripped a telephone off a wall when the victim tried to call police. When the victim ran to her vehicle, the man allegedly chased her and damaged the driver's side door. The victim then ran to a neighbor's house to call police.

ROBBERY/HARASSMENT... A 39-year-old Dick Road woman was arrested after police responded to a Dick Road store on a report of a robbery. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the woman ripped off her necklace and scratched her chest. Police located the woman walking northbound on Dick and apprehended her. They also found the victim's necklace in the woman's possession.

PUBLIC LEWDNESS...A 23-yearold Holland man was arrested after police responded to Walden Galleria on a report of exposure. Upon an officer's arrival, two female witnesses stated that they saw the man turn and display his genitalia to them while he was walking and pushing a stroller that held his young daughter. After seeing an officer, the man ran away until he was apprehended about 45 minutes later while he hid in a shoe store. The man, whose wife took his daughter before police questioned him, reportedly stated that he had been "watching girls" and became excited. He added that he was "stimulating himself" and looking down at himself." A background check revealed that the man had been barred from Walden Galleria for two years.
