HOPE FOR TOMORROW DONATES 12 CLEFT PALATE SURGERIES IN JULIACA, PERU. . . At the Carlos Monge Meddrano Hospital, in Juliaca, Peru, Dr. Jeffery Meilman and the Hope for Tomorrow Foundation donated at no charge 12 cleft palate plastic surgeries for poor children from 1 month to 3 years of age. Pictured are Hope for tomorrow Foundation Chairman of the Board and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jeffery Meilman, Columbia Univesity Pre-Med Student Veronica Couzo, a 2-year-old Peruvian surgery recipient from the mountain region, UB Pre-Med student Helia Laftavi and Anesthesiologist from Kenmore Mercy Hospital Dr. Krzysztof Merkel. Dr. Meilman and Campanella Orthotics and Prosthetics also donated $30,000 in surgical and orthotics supplies for needy children in the Andes mountains of Juliaca, Peru.
