Erie 1 BOCES students win SkillsUSA competition
Nineteen students from Erie 1 BOCES Harkness and Kenton career and technical centers were recognized in the awards ceremonies following the SkillsUSA State Competition on April 18-20 in Syracuse.
The first place-winning students are now eligible to travel to Kansas City later in June for the SkillsUSA national competitions.
Local winners include: (first place in Data Entry) Adam Rodriguez, Cleveland Hill, Harkness Career & Tech Center; and Matthew Brzyski (Electronic Applications), Maryvale, Harkness Career & Tech Center.
Brzyski and one other student will compete in the national competitions from June 26-29. SkillsUSA is a national, nonprofit organization serving more than 284,000 teachers and high school/college students enrolled in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations.
