Odrobina, Wayne selected as Co-Players of the Year
Maryvale senior Nicole Odrobina and Depew sophomore Alexis Wayne were recently selected as the Erie County Interscholastic Conference III softball Co-Players of the Year.
Odrobina, a shortstop, finished second on the Lady Flyers with a .439 batting average, notching 29 hits in 66 at-bats.
Maryvale finished a surprising 10- 2 and second place in ECIC-III, as Odrobina provided leadership as the team's only senior.
Wayne, also a shortstop, broke out with a monster season, hitting a team-high .500, ripping 46 hits in 92 at-bats, including two home runs, two triples and eight doubles. She also reached team highs in runs batted in (27) and runs scored (27).
Depew won ECIC-III with a perfect 12-0 record, finishing 17-7 overall.
