APRIL 22
ASSAULT...A 24-year-old Linda Drive man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of an assault. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man knocked her to the ground during an argument and hit her in the face several times.
DWI...A 24-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was traveling westbound on French Road, at 50 miles per hour in a 35 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "somewhat slurred" speech. The man said he consumed four or five beers earlier. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .12. Breath test: .14.
MENACING...A 47-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Lemans Drive address on a report of menacing. Upon arrival, police observed the man, who matched the report's description as having been involved in the incident, operating his vehicle away from the address. A traffic stop was initiated on Sebring Drive, and a victim stated that the man choked her earlier and threatened her with two knives.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON...A 22-year-old Garden Village Drive man was arrested after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway with a cracked windshield and darkly-tinted windows. A traffic stop was initiated and police located a knife in the man's right pants pocket.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF...A 27- year-old Preston Road man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of an ongoing dispute. Upon arrival, police observed a victim laying on the floor with a torn shirt. The victim stated she came home from work and the man began screaming at her, later grabbing and tearing her shirt.
POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Wanda Avenue man, a 17-year-old Leonard Post Drive female and a 17- year-old Lancaster male were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the female traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue with its driver's view obstructed by objects hanging from the rear-view mirror. A traffic stop was initiated
and the three reportedly told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, police located three Hydrocodone pills near the center console, as well as an alleged marijuana cigarette inside the center console and alleged marijuana and a pipe under the front passenger's seat.
POSSESSION...A 23-year-old Pine Ridge Road man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a Walden Avenue convenience store on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon an officer's arrival, a store security guard stated the man attempted to leave the store after taking various items and not paying for them. At police headquarters, an officer located alleged marijuana in the man's possession.
HARASSMENT...A 40-year-old Simpson Drive woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the woman, who was intoxicated, screamed at him and used profanity. Several other residents nearby also heard profanities.
POSSESSION...A 40-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling southbound on Pine Ridge Road while displaying a rear license plate that was not illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated and the man reportedly told conflicting accounts of his previous whereabouts. During a pat search an officer located alleged "crack" cocaine in the man's left shoe.
HARASSMENT... A 48-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a William Street address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man threatened to come over and "kick the victim's door down" and "beat up" the victim's acquaintance. Police also determined that the man had called the victim 41 times throughout that day. Police then located the man at his residence.
APRIL 23
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 51- year-old Gary Lane man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of a dispute. Upon arrival, police determined that the man approached a victim's vehicle and threw a paint can against the vehicle, breaking the windshield and splattering paint.
DWI...A 40-year-old Losson Road man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Losson and Jeffrey Drive on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. After arriving and interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. During field sobriety tests, the man reportedly sang the alphabet, also stating he couldn't count backwards because he "went to Depew High School." Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .28. A background check revealed that the man had previous DWI convictions in 1991, 1993 and 2003, making this arrest a felony.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON...A 43-year-old Transit Road, Depew man was arrested after police responded to a French Road address on a report of a male looking into vehicles. When an officer arrived and questioned the man, who matched the report's description, the man reportedly became argumentive. Police located a Kung-Fu style knife in the man's possession. During a search of the man's vehicle, officers located a slingshot, an air gun, a revolver and ammunition.
APRIL 24
POSSESSION...A 20-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 22- year-old man, all of Buffalo, and a 17- year-old West Seneca female, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the 17-year-old nearly strike another vehicle while traveling southbound on Harlem Road. A traffic stop was initiated and police observed the 27-year-old, who was a passenger, making furtive movements. During a search of the vehicle, police located an alleged marijuana cigarette between the front passenger's seat and the center console, as well as alleged marijuana and a Hydrocodone pill under the back seat.
POSSESSION...A 23-year-old Blasdell man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle pass through a red light while traveling eastbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed alleged marijuana in the glove compartment.
POSSESSION...A 24-year-old Grand Island man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man talking on a cellular phone while driving his vehicle eastbound on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed in plain view two alleged marijuana "roaches" in an ash tray. Police later located alleged marijuana in the man's possession.
DWI...A 36-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling northbound from Genesee Street onto Transit Road without its headlights illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The woman reportedly stated she consumed three beers earlier at a Genesee Street adult entertainment club. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .20.
ASSAULT...A 24-year-old Chapel Avenue woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's address on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that during an argument, the woman lunged at him and scratched his face and eyes, causing large lacerations.
POSSESSION...A 33-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling westbound on Genesee Street with only one headlight illuminated and displaying front-end damage. A traffic stop was initiated and the woman reportedly appeared nervous. During a search of the vehicle, an officer located alleged "crack" cocaine and two alleged "crack" pipes in a cigarette pack inside the center console.
POSSESSION/TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE...An 18-year-old man, 30-year-old woman, 20-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, all of Buffalo; as well as a 46-year-old Farmingdale Drive woman and a 27- year-old Niagara Falls woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a Genesee Street hotel on a report of drug use in a hotel room. Upon arrival, police observed the men run into a bathroom and throw alleged marijuana down a drain. Officers also located on a table two alleged "crack" pipes, alleged marijuana, one "chore boy" and a Propoxyphan pill. The 30-year-old woman reportedly stated that she and the others were having a "crack and weed party," and that the men supplied the drugs. The 20-year-old man reportedly gave police a false name, but a background check revealed his actual identity.
AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT... A 42-year-old Williamstowne Court man was arrested after police responded to a Williamstowne address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man repeatedly came to her residence, even after the victim asked him to stop doing so. The man also allegedly made several unwanted telephone calls to the victim.
HARRASSMENT/ RESISTING ARREST...A 67-year-old Armond Lane man was arrested after police responded to the man's address on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the man became angry and harassed her earlier. The man also reportedly resisted officers' attempts to arrest him before he was subdued.
POSSESSION...A 36-year-old Tonawanda man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Genesee Street with its driver's view obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed the man stuffing an object into his jacket. During a pat search, an officer located an alleged "crack" cocaine rock inside a water bottle cap.
ASSAULT...A 43-year-old Alpine Place woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's residence on a report of a stabbing. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated that the woman stabbed his face during an argument. Police were unable to find a weapon but observed a laceration on the victim's face.
APRIL 25
DWI...A 35-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle traveling on Genesee Street with darkly tinted windows and inadequate tail lights. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes and slurred speech. A background check revealed that the man's license was suspended. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .17.
DWI...A 26-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the woman's vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Harlem Road, at 52 miles per hour in a 35 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.
POSSESSION/ASSAULT... A 31- year-old woman and 46-year-old man, both of Buffalo, were arrested after police responded to a Kenville Road address on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police observed the woman laying on the ground, with the man standing over the woman. Police determined that the man and woman had kicked and punched each other during an argument. An officer also located an alleged "crack" pipe in the man's possession.
POSSESSION...A 19-year-old Jackson Avenue, Sloan man and a 17-yearold Buffalo male were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the man's address on a report of persons smoking marijuana in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed the man and the 17-year-old in the vehicle, from which police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the interior. Police located several open beer containers and alleged marijuana on the front and back seats.
APRIL 26
FALSE PERSONATION/ POSSESSION...A 21-year-old Main Street, Depew man and a 16-year-old Alys Drive West, Depew female were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle driven by the female traveling in an "erratic manner" while heading on Broadway. A traffic stop was initiated and the female said she had only a learner's permit. The man removed alleged marijuana from a vent and handed it to an officer. The man reportedly gave police a false name, but an investigation revealed his actual identity.
DWI...A 56-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Richard Drive and Shanley Street on a report of an accident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police determined that the man's vehicle struck another vehicle. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .15. A background check revealed that the man had a previous DWI conviction in Cheektowaga in April 2003, making this arrest a felony.
POSSESSION...A 27-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling on Pine Ridge Road with an inadequate muffler. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed in plain view a filter used in "crack" cocaine pipes on the front passenger's seat. During a search of the vehicle, an officer located a plastic bag containing alleged "crack" cocaine.
CRIMINAL CONTEMPT... A 34- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to Thruway Plaza on a report of an order of protection violation. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man approached her and used profanity. A background check revealed that the victim had a stay-away order of protection against the man.
ASSAULT...A 45-year-old Union Road man was arrested after police responded to St. Joseph Hospital to talk to a victim who had been assaulted at a Union Road address earlier. The victim stated he confronted the man about the man's dog going to the bathroom in the victim's yard. The man then reportedly punched the victim's chest and face, breaking the victim's nose. Police later located the man at his residence.
APRIL 27
POSSESSION/TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE...A 34-year-old Alden man, A 42-year-old Akron man and a 34-year-old Springfield Drive woman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the Alden man change lanes without signaling while traveling northbound on Harlem Road. A traffic stop was initiated and police observed the Akron man, who was a passenger, making furtive movements. Police located an alleged "crack" pipe, alleged "crack" cocaine and a push rod in the Akron man's pocket. The Alden man reportedly stated that he and the two others had gone to Buffalo earlier to buy "crack" cocaine. The woman reportedly hid a "crack" pipe under her young daughter, and police located an alleged "crack" pipe in the Alden man's possession.
POSSESSION...A 27-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a Genesee Street gas station on a report of a theft of services. Upon an officer's arrival, a taxicab driver stated that the man refused to pay his cab fare after a ride. During a pat search, police located a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the man's pocket.
APRIL 28
ASSAULT...An 18-year-old Yvonne Avenue man and an 18-year-old Bennett Road man were arrested after police responded to a large fight at a Dale Road address. Police observed the men, who matched the report's description as having been involved in the altercation, occupying a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through an Anderson Road parking lot. A traffic stop was initiated and both of the men reportedly ran from the vehicle. Police apprehended the two nearby, and a victim stated the two earlier repeatedly punched him in the face. The victim sustained a broken nose and injuries to his face, neck and skull.
DWI...A 32-year-old Thornwood Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle drifting between lanes while traveling westbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "very slurred" speech. The man reportedly stated he was coming from a French Road tavern. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .18. Breath test: .20.
DRIVING AFTER ALCOHOL CONSUMED...A 19-year-old North Bryant Street, Depew woman was arrested after police observed the woman's vehicle moving forward and backward under a traffic signal on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated and the woman reportedly stated she was "trying to click the traffic light." An officer detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage on the woman, who admitted to being 19 years old. The woman stated she consumed two mixed drinks earlier at a Buffalo tavern. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .05.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 46- year-old Jacksonville, Florida man was arrested after police responded to Mount Cavalry Cemetery on a report of a male breaking a vehicle's window. Upon an officer's arrival, several cemetery employees stated that the man used a hammer to smash two cemetery vehicles. The man reportedly stated he damaged the vehicles because "he and his family got their vehicle stuck in mud and cemetery workers refused to help get the vehicle unstuck."
FORGERY...A 38-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman, both of Buffalo, were arrested after police responded to a Union Road drug store on a report of a woman attempting to use a forged prescription. Upon an officer's arrival, the 36-year-old reportedly stated that she and the 38-year-old had used four forged prescriptions, three of which were located in the 38-year-old's possession.
