JANUARY 14

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 30- year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to the corner of Genesee Street and Harlem Road on a report of a road rage incident in which the man's vehicle was involved. Upon arrival, police observed the man's vehicle following a vehicle in which two victims were occupants. A traffic stop was initiated and police determined the man deliberately followed and struck the victims' vehicle with his vehicle, causing "extensive" damage.

JANUARY 15

FALSELY REPORTING AN INCIDENT...A 40-year-old Fonda Drive woman was arrested after police responded to the woman's residence on a report of a suicidal male. Upon arrival, police observed that the woman- who had called police- was "extremely intoxicated" and that she couldn't explain the incident. A male, whom the woman stated was "suicidal," stated that he was "not going to do harm to himself."

MENACING...A 32-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Borden Road address on a report of harassment. Upon arrival, officers observed that a victim had dirt on her back. Police later determined that the man had acted in a menacing manner toward the victim.

POSSESSION/TRESPASSING... A 35-year-old woman and 42-year-old woman, both of Buffalo, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the two acting suspiciously near a Walden Avenue truck stop. When police approached them, the 42-year-old stated that she and the 35-year-old were there to "make some money and prostitute." Police found an alleged "crack" pipe and a syringe in the 42-year-old's coat pocket, as well as another alleged "crack" pipe in the 35-year-old's possession.

BURGLARY...A 22-year-old Allison Drive man was arrested after police responded to a Kingswood Drive address on a report of a man entering the garage. Upon arrival, police observed wet footprints leading into the garage. A witness stated that the man took "a couple" of bags from the garage. Upon searching the Cedargrove Circle area, police located the man walking on Harlem Road and stopped him. After talking to a victim, officers determined that the man had taken 200 pop cans, 67 batteries, 27 cassettes, a radio and several other items from the victim's garage.

DWI...A 55-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Broadway tavern on a report of a vehicle "off the road." Upon arrival, police observed that the vehicle was unoccupied, and that its owner- the Buffalo man- was inside the tavern. The man told police that his vehicle's transmission had failed and that he pulled over his vehicle near railroad tracks. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. An officer also noticed that the man had urinated in his pants. The man reportedly almost fell after he walked outside the tavern. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: positive. Breath test: .28. Police located three empty Smirnoff Vodka bottles, as well as five empty 12-packs of beer, in the man's vehicle.

JANUARY 16

USING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA... A 20-year-old Blasdell man was arrested after police observed a vehicle in which the man was a passenger traveling northbound on Union Road with its driver's view obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected an odor of marijuana on the man. The man and the driver reportedly told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, an officer located a digital scale in the glove compartment, a "roach clip" in an ashtray and a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana under the passenger's seat. The man admitted to owning the items.

POSSESSION...A 41-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the woman carrying a duffel bag full of clothes while walking westbound on French Road. After an officer asked the woman if she was okay to carry the item, the woman began acting suspiciously and told conflicing accounts of her destination. Police observed a chore boy and an alleged "crack" pipe containing cocaine residue in the woman's purse. The woman also refused to tell officers her name or residence, but a background check revealed that information.

FALSE PERSONATION/ FORGERY...A 26-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after officers brought the woman to police headquarters on a petit larceny charge. The womna reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth, but she later stated her actual identity in court. It was later determined that the woman had given a false name and date of birth during an October 2006 petit larceny charge.

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after officers brought the man to police headquarters on a separate charge. During the booking process, police located a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana in the man's jacket pocket. A background check revealed that the man had outstanding arrest warrants in Orchard Park and Hamburg.

JANUARY 17

DWI...A 51-year-old Amherst man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a report of a vehicle traveling erratically with its driver's view obstructed while heading northbound on Union Road. Police observed the man's vehicle, which matched the report's description, traveling on Union near Maryvale Drive and initiated a traffic stop. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .18.

ASSAULT... A 30-year-old Standard Parkway man was arrested after police responded to the man's residence on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man had yelled at his son, then threatened to "decapitate" the victim. The man also allegedly bit and choked the victim, dragged her around the residence and slammed her into a wall. Police located the man in the garage near his residence.

POSSESSION...A 22-year-old Angola woman was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a suspicious vehicle near a Clinton Street banquet hall. Upon approaching the area, police observed the woman exit her vehicle, where she was stopped. The woman then admitted to having a marijuana pipe and handed the alleged item to an officer. During a search of the vehicle, police located Zopidem and Taitrate pills in an unmarked pill bottle in the woman's purse.

JANUARY 18

CRIMINAL TAMPERING... A 20- year-old man and 18-year-old man, both of Buffalo, and 20-year-old North Tonawanda man were arrested after police responded to a Thruway Plaza restaurant on a report of an incident involving a paintball gun being used to shoot a vehicle and building. Upon arrival, police observed the three men riding in a vehicle that matched the report's description, traveling in Thruway Plaza toward Walden Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer observed a paintball gun and loose paintballs in the back seat, as well as paint on the North Tonawanda man's clothing. After speaking to the three, as well as a restaurant manager, police determined that the three men had illegally used paintballs near the restaurant. Police also noticed the paintball gun was loaded with ammunition. It was also determined the three had stolen the paintballs from a Thruway Plaza department store. A victim later stated that the North Tonawanda man had earlier shot a paintball at his vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Union Road, splattering on the rear window. Police had also heard complaints of paintballs being fired at various objects earlier along Walden.

JANUARY 19

HARASSMENT/POSSESSION... A 22-year-old Green Terrace, Depew man and a 19-year-old Lancaster woman were arrested after police responded to a Walden Galleria restaurant on a report of a fight. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man had grabbed his shirt and punched the victim's face. After the man and the victim scuffled, the victim attempted to call police, but the woman grabbed the victim's phone and also punched him. Both the man and woman later turned themselves in at police headquarters. Officers found a pipe containing alleged marijuana residue in the woman's vehicle.

POSSESSION...A 25-year-old Slate Creek Drive man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed the man's vehicle traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue with its front license plate obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected an "overwhelming" odor of marijuana coming from the interior. Police located a burnt alleged marijuana cigarette in the center console. An officer found a bag containing alleged marijuana and a plastic bag containing alleged cocaine in the man's shoes.

UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT... A 23-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Kenville Road address on a report of a male hitting a female. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man made several "sexual advances" toward her. When the victim resisted and attempted to walk away from him, the man reportedly punched the victim's face and hit her until she called police. Officers located the man, who fled the scene, outside a Buffalo address.

GRAND LARCENY...A 46-yearold Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Union Road department store on a report of a wallet being stolen and then recovered. When police arrived, the man reportedly told officers, "You're probably looking for me." A victim stated the man took her wallet from her shopping cart, then threw it in another aisle.

LARCENY...An 18-year-old George Urban Boulevard man was arrested after police responded to a Walden Avenue department store on a report of a larceny. Upon an officer's arrival, a complainant stated he observed the man attempt to open a radar detector package. The man then reportedly took the package and exited the store without paying for the item. However, officers arrived and apprehended the man.

FALSE PERSONATION...A 40- year-old Buffalo woman was arrested after police stopped the woman's vehicle, which was traveling on Harlem Road, for a traffic infraction. The woman reportedly gave police a false name and date of birth, but officers later determined her actual identity.

JANUARY 20

DWI...A 23-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Broadway address on a report of an accident in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon an officer's arrival, a witness stated the woman ran into the backyard of a Broadway residence after her vehicle was involved in the accident. Police located the woman behind the residence. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT... A Lancaster man with no age given was arrested after police responded to a Genesee Street adult entertainment club on a report of a disorderly person. Upon an officer's arrival, a club manager stated the man was "extremely intoxicated" and that the man had screamed at an individual in the club that he had "lost his cellular phone." The man then drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed on the sidewalk in front of the club. The man's vehicle also narrowly avoided striking another vehicle after backing up. Police later observed tire marks on both the sidewalk and parking lot. A background check revealed that the man had only a conditional-use license.

DWI...A 61-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle change lanes without signalling while traveling southbound on Union Road near Como Park Boulevard. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot eyes and "slightly slurred" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

DWI...A 36-year-old Lewiston woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling very slowly and not signalling while changing lanes as it headed westbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .24.

TRESPASSING/CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON... A 20-year-old Genesee Street man was arrested after police responded to an East Grand Boulevard address on a report of a dispute. Upon arrival, a victim told police that the man had arrived at the victim's residence and wanted to see the victim's daughter. When the victim refused this request, the man reportedly displayed a knife and threatened the victim. Police located the knife in the man's pocket.

JANUARY 13

DWI...A 20-year-old Youngstown, Ohio man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a Dick Road store on a report of a larceny. Police observed the man, who matched the report's description, operating his vehicle on George Urban Boulevard near Colgate Drive. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The man reportedly stated he had consumed "four to five" drinks earlier. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

JANUARY 14

DWI...A 28-year-old Sebring Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle swerving between lanes while traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Transit Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had bloodshot, watery eyes and "impaired" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .19.

JANUARY 17

DWI...A 65-year-old Clarence woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police and the Depew Fire Department responded to the area of French and Transit roads on a report of a rollover accident in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon an officer's arrival, the woman stated she consumed two mixed drinks earlier. An officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the woman and noticed the woman had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered but the woman was unable to provide sufficient alco sensor or breath test results.

DWI...A 44-year-old Nagel Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle change lanes in an unsafe manner while traveling westbound on George Urban Boulevard. A traffic stop was initiated and police determined the man's vehicle had been involved in a hitand run accident earlier. The man later refused to submit to an alco sensor or breath test.

JANUARY 18

DWI...A 51-year-old Melody Lane man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to a George Urban Boulevard location on a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. Police observed the man's vehicle, which matched the report's description, traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue near Lincoln Street. A traffic stop was initiated and the man reportedly stated his license was suspended because of previous DWI convictions. Upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: refused.

JANUARY 19

POSSESSION...Two 22-year-old men, both of Conrad Street, Depew, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Conrad Street. Upon arrival, police observed the second 22-year-old looking into other vehicles in the area. Upon searching the men's residence, police found four "growing" tables commonly used to harvest drugs, two of which contained 75 four-inch tall marijuana plants under lights. An officer also found the first 22-year-old hiding under stairs in the basement.
