Thanks for donations Dear Editor:
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the many people and businesses that allow us at the Tri-Community Food Pantry to serve the residents of Depew.
So many times we have been close to having no food on our shelves and feared we would have to turn people away, And every month, every day, every minute, there is a miracle that occurs that allows us to continue to distribute the emergency food assistance that is so desperately needed by those we serve.
That miracle is the people we live with and the businesses in our community, from the postal workers who collect food from our village residents on their mail routes, to the teachers and students in our schools, to the officials and employees of our village, to the Village of Depew volunteer firefighters who on their own time have for three years collected food on our behalf, to the many people who drop off donations but do not leave their names and want no recognition, to those who send us checks, to a local supermarket that donates baked goods twice each and every week of the year, to the local farmers who drop off produce for us to distribute, to local restaurants— one of whose owner allowed us to place our perishable food items in their walk-in freezer during the storm in October when the pantry lost power, to the many other people and businesses who help and support us - of which there are too many to name.
Without all of them, without their acts of selflessness, kindness and generosity, we could not exist.
On behalf of all of us at the Tri- Community Food Pantry, though we may not be able to do it individually to each and every person or business, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
And I thank you, on behalf of those we serve, because I know they appreciate each and every effort made on their behalf
