Downsize the government Dear Editor:
I’m writing this letter in a small effort to try and stop the closing of St. Joseph Hospital.
Our government needs to stop taking away vital departments and businesses from our communities. They have already downsized and consolidated our police departments, our fire departments and our children’s libraries, for starters. Now they want to close or consolidate our hospitals to save money.
Isn’t it time to start at the top?
The pharmaceutical companies are out of control, along with our insurance companies and our government itself.
California and Texas are both much larger than us and yet our government is much larger than theirs.
Let’s downsize our government. Let’s consolidate departments. Let’s get rid of these elaborate government buildings and offices. Let’s end the government official-issued cars and the insurance. Let’s end governmentpaid trips and let’s stop paying for their cell phones and other unnecessary perks that we the taxpayers can not afford. Then our government will end our money problems and do what is needed for our communities.
