CHEEKTOWAGA

OCTOBER 1

DWI...A 56-year-old Nokomis Parkway man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of Nokomis and Petan Drive on a report of an intoxicated driver traveling erratically. Police observed the man's vehicle, which matched the report's description, traveling at a high rate of speed while heading westbound on George Urban Boulevard. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .11. A background check revealed the man had previous DWI convictions in Cheektowaga in 1999 and Depew in 1985.

DWI...A 24-year-old Lancaster man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle, which was swerving between lanes several times, traveling 54 miles per hour in a 45 mph speed zone. The man's vehicle was traveling southbound on Transit Road. A traffic stop was initiated on French Road and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "slightly slurred" speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: .17. Breath test: .15.

DWI...A 26-year-old Shelby Drive man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of William Street and Crisfield Avenue on a report of an erratic driver. Police observed the man's vehicle, which matched the report's description, at the corner of Dingens Street and Rossler Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .16.

DWI...A 46-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to the area of William Street and the New York State Thruway on a report of a reckless driver whose vehicle had struck another vehicle. Police located the woman's vehicle, which matched the report's description, at the corner of Union Road and William. A traffic stop was initiated but the woman's vehicle continued traveling before stopping at the corner of Union and Losson roads. The woman reportedly refused to get out of her vehicle and stated she had "too much to drink" earlier at a Walden Avenue restaurant. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had bloodshot, watery eyes and "extremely slurred" speech. The woman was reportedly too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests and refused both an alco sensor and breath test. The woman was also combative at police headquarters during the booking process, hitting an officer before she was physically escorted to a cell.

DWI...A 50-year-old Colton Street woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while heading southbound on Harlem Road. A traffic stop was initiated and upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .09.

OCTOBER 2

RESISTING ARREST...A 26-yearold Atwood Place man was arrested after police responded to the man's residence on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man choked her and pushed her against a wall. The man later pushed an officer and fought with police until he was taken to the floor and handcuffed.

POSSESSION...A 24-year-old Alden man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle in which the man was a passenger traveling at a high rate of speed and with an object hanging from its rear view mirror while heading eastbound on Aero Drive. A traffic stop was initiated and during a pat search, an officer located an alleged marijuana pipe in the man's right pants pocket. The man later reportedly pulled out a plastic bag containing alleged marijuana and handed it to an officer.

POSSESSION...A 26-year-old Mesa, Arizona man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed the man's vehicle traveling westbound on Doat Street without a properly illuminated license plate. A traffic stop was initiated near Randolph Avenue and the man stated he had a marijuana cigar in his vehicle, where police located the item.

OCTOBER 3

DWI...A 46-year-old Amherst man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police radar paced the man's vehicle traveling at 70 mph in a 35 mph speed zone while heading westbound on Aero Drive. A traffic stop was initiated near Transit Road and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .19.

HARASSMENT...A 32-year-old Roland Street, Sloan man was arrested after police responded to a Gates Street, Sloan address on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man approached her and shouted, "I'm going to choke you out," and "I'm going to kill you and your husband."

POSSESSION...A 22-year-old man and 18-year-old man, both of Williamsville, were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle driven by the 22-yearold traveling eastbound on Genesee Street with a broken passenger side tail light. A traffic stop was initiated and the 18-year-old reportedly stated there was a marijuana cigar in the glove compartment, where police located the item.

OCTOBER 4

DWI...A 24-year-old Sandra Drive

woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police responded to an accident at a Genesee Street address in which the woman's vehicle was involved. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .12.

UNLAWFUL DEALING WITH FIREWORKS...A 24-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police stopped the man's vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on French Road, for several traffic infractions. A background check revealed the man's vehicle's registration and inspection were expired. During a search of the vehicle, police located 560 firecrackers and 115 "bottle rockets" inside a duffel bag in the back seat.

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Argus Drive, Depew woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle in which the woman was a passenger traveling eastbound on Walden Avenue with inadequate brake lights. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the vehicle, an officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the interior. The woman reportedly stated she had a marijuana pipe in her purse and three plastic bags containing marijuana in her bra. The woman then handed the items over to police.

POSSESSION...An 18-year-old Donald Drive man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle in which the man was a passenger traveling eastbound on George Urban Boulevard with its driver's view obstructed. A traffic stop was initiated and an officer observed the man placing an object into his mouth. The man, who then reportedly threw two Hydrocodone pills from the vehicle, stated he had eaten four Hydrocodone pills.

OCTOBER 5

DWI/POSSESSION...A 21-year-old Ellen Drive woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the woman's vehicle cross over double yellow lines while traveling westbound on Aero Drive near Holtz Drive. A traffic stop was initiated and a background check revealed the woman's license was suspended. Upon interviewing the woman, an officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the woman had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .22. Police also located alleged cocaine in the woman's purse.

OCTOBER 6

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF... A 31- year-old Ivanhoe Road man was arrested after police responded to a Marne Road address on a report of a disturbance. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated Brown pushed her and broke her glasses. Police later located the man at his residence.

ASSAULT...A 40-year-old Mansion Avenue man was arrested after police responded to the man's residence on a report of a dispute. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man came home intoxicated and started yelling. The man then allegedly punched, slapped and threw the victim, who suffered lacera- tions and bruises on her face.

OCTOBER 7

POSSESSION...A 21-year-old woman and 28-year-old man, both of Brocton, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police observed a vehicle driven by the woman traveling northbound on Harlem Road with an insufficiently illuminated license plate. The two reportedly told conflicting accounts of their whereabouts. A background check revealed the woman's license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, an officer located alleged "crack" cocaine in a purse.

EXPOSURE/RESISTING ARREST...A 19-year-old West Seneca man was arrested after police observed the man, who wasn't wearing pants or underwear, riding a bicycle southbound on Harlem Road with a bed sheet draped over him. When an officer advised the man to stop, the man reportedly stated, "Go fight real crime, you can't talk to me while I'm riding." The man later ran into a Harlem Road cemetery before police apprehended him. The man also refused to place his hands behind his back and gave police a false name, but an officer recognized the man and knew his true identity.

DWI...A 33-year-old West Seneca man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police observed the man's vehicle swerve over double yellow lines while heading eastbound on French Road. A traffic stop was initiated near Scrivner Road and upon interviewing the man, an officer detected a "very strong" odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed the man had glassy, bloodshot eyes and "very slurred" speech. The man reportedly stated he consumed "eight or nine" beers at a Buffalo Sabres game, a Dick Road tavern and a William Street tavern. Field sobriety tests were administered. Alco sensor: positive. Breath test: .19.

HARASSMENT...A 32-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Garden Village Drive address on a report of an unwelcome guest. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man, who is "not welcome" at the victim's residence, refused to leave the victim's address. The man allegedly continuously rang the doorbell and knocked on the victim's daughter's bedroom window. Police later located the man hiding in the victim's vehicle.

POSSESSION...A 33-year-old Williamstowne Court man was arrested for criminal possession of marijuana after police responded to a Thruway Plaza store on a report of a man rolling a marijuana cigarette in the bathroom. Police located the man, who matched the report's description, and observed an alleged marijuana cigarette in his possession.

TRESPASSING...A 21-year-old man and two 18-year-old men, all of Lockport, as well as a 16-year-old Lockport male, were arrested after police responded to Walden Galleria on a report of trespassing. Upon an officer's arrival, a mall security guard stated he advised the four males to leave the mall because they were in violation of the mall's parental escort policy. The four reportedly left and returned a short time later, but were held by mall security until police arrived.

HARASSMENT...A 23-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after police responded to a Union Road address on a report of harassment. Upon an officer's arrival, a victim stated the man, against whom the victim has an order of protection, came to her workplace and said he was going to "beat her up after work." Police located the man at a Union Road store.

POSSESSION... A 20-year-old Buffalo man was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after police responded to the area of Losson and Union roads on a report of a suspicious person with a vehicle. A witness stated people had come up to the man's vehicle, handed the man money and were "given something in return." Police located the man's vehicle on the corner of Union and Hutchens Drive and initiated a traffic stop. Both the man and a passenger reportedly told conflicting accounts of their previous whereabouts. During a search of the vehicle, with assistance from the K-9 Unit, police located 21 Ecstasy capsules, a digital scale and numerous plastic bags in the back seat and glove compartment.

DEPEW

OCTOBER 5

POSSESSION...A 24-year-old Cromwell Drive man and a 17-year-old Middlesex Road, Depew male were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police observed a vehicle driven by the 24-year-old stop and back up into the middle of Transit Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and a background check revealed the man's license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, police located alleged marijuana in a small case.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT... A 39-year-old Olmstead Avenue, Depew woman was arrested after police observed the woman's vehicle move into an oncoming traffic lane while an officer directed traffic during a construction process on Walden Avenue near Transit Road. When an officer told the woman that she couldn't travel in that direction, the woman reportedly used profanity toward the officer and flicked the officer's badge, stating, "You're no cop." The woman allegedly resisted arrest and had to be physically taken to the ground and handcuffed. The woman's acquaintance later stated the woman is "bipolar and had recently been refusing to take her medication."
