Central grad Stencel scores first goal of soccer season
Cheektowaga Central graduate Marc Stencel, a sophomore forward on the University at Buffalo men's soccer team, netted his first goal of the season last Friday in the Bulls' 2-1 loss to Duquesne. Stencel, who scored three goals last season, recently recovered from an injury in which he broke his foot at the beginning of last summer.
"He's gaining confidence with every training session and game," said UB head coach John Astudillo. "He's worked hard to get in shape."
The Bulls (5-3-1) return to action Sunday at Siena for a 1 p.m. contest.
