| Depew High School students were sent home early Thursday after a bomb threat was discovered in the building.
The discovery of the message, found on a lavatory wall, was made near the end of the academic day.
Students were evacuated and then sent home. Eighth grade classes in the high school were moved to the middle school cafeteria and the entire middle school went into lockdown.
All after-school activities at the high school and middle school were cancelled.
School authorities, Depew Police and the New York State Police are investigating the incident.
A message posted on the Depew School District's Web site said that the incident is believed to be a "copycat" event inspired by recent news events.
"We have no tolerance for this type of behavior, and those responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law," the message states.
The high school building was "swept" by bomb-sniffing dogs, and nothing was found.
The Cayuga Heights Spring Concert will still take place tonight, and all classes at the high school and middle school will resume Friday.
