| The Cheektowaga Central Board of Education voted Tuesday evening not to move Union East Elementary School chorus and band practices to an after-school activity.
Public reaction to the proposal was mixed. Union East Principal Kathleen Rudewicz said many parents spoke favorably for moving the program to after school.
However, many parents telephoned her to express their concern that moving the practices to after school would interfere with other extra-classroom activities such as religious education.
