| McKinley High School ended Maryvale's postseason run in boys' basketball, defeating the Flyers 81-62 in the overall Section VI Class A final Tuesday night at the Buffalo State College Sports Arena.
Maryvale dug itself a 36-20 halftime hole by committing 14 turnovers, but played McKinley nearly even throughout the entire second half.
Leading scorers for Maryvale were Matt Brennan and Matt Mohr, who each had 13 points. Andre Davis chipped in 12 points, and Brooks Estarfaa added 11.
Leading McKinley was Mansa Habeeb, who had 22 points, followed by William Robinson with 21 points.
The Flyers end the season as Class A-2 champions with a record of 17-7. McKinley improves to 21-4.
Maryvale defeated Depew in the Class A-2 final on Saturday, 47-38.
